Description

Thelema pendant in stainless steel

Aleister Crowley’s interpretation of the unicursal hexagram, perhaps the best known symbol and certainly one of the most important symbols of Thelema, equivalent to the ancient Egyptian ankh or the Rosy Cross of the Rosicrucians, but derived for the first time in 1639 from the theorem of Blaise Pascal’s hexagram mysticum.

Thelema is an esoteric and occult social or spiritual philosophy and a new religious movement developed in the early 1900s from Aleister Crowley , an English writer, mystic and ceremonial magician.

Three statements in particular distil Thelema’s practice and ethics:

“Do what you want” will be the entire Law, which means that the followers of Thelema should seek and follow their true path, which is to find or determine their True Will.
Love is the law, love under the will, that is, the nature of the Law of Thelema is love, but love itself is subsidiary to finding and manifesting one’s true purpose or “mission”.
Every man and every woman is a star, that is to say that in the vulgar cosmology of the 20th century era, it is implied by the metaphor that the people who make their wills are like stars in the universe: they occupy a time and a position in space , but distinctly individual and independent in nature largely without undue conflict with other stars.
