White Quan Yin figurine
Quan Yin is the embodiment of compassion and friendship, and he hears the cries of every creature. Quan Yin is also the name of the Goddess of Mercy (who forgives). She is a virgin goddess who protects women, is the patroness of the sea, supports those who ask for her help, and hears every prayer. In the Quan Yin arts she is often depicted holding a weeping willow twig, tilted toward the earth, as raindrops fall.
Quan Yin is depicted holding a jar containing nectar of long life. She is also often depicted holding a twig of Weeping Willow, known for its pendulous leafy branches that reach down to the ground and through which raindrops drip like tears. Quan Yin is said to be a representation of the same energy as Mary and Tara. She is also called “Mary of the East.”
